I like the choice of a regiment = a unit, which is effectively how I usually game this era. I too had thought I could safely ignore these rules as the parent FoG Ancient rules interest me not at all, but sounds like a set I'd be willing to play with other gamers, if not my first choice, which firmly remain Field of Battle, of course.

Re: lack of support - that is a rules *author* issue, not really a company issue. In the case of Lasalle, I'd think the community of gamers would be large enough now to pretty much handle that, but perhaps not.Gonsalvohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16531623280789478092noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7293690195430705478.post-32033291426003952892012-04-06T01:56:08.190-04:002012-04-06T01:56:08.190-04:00Tactical to me having read and Played NB represent...Tactical to me having read and Played NB represents batallons in column and perhaps mixed order line flanked by 2 columns with the same. It means tactical flexible formations determined by local commanders. At this scale no need to micro manage- great idea in my opinion.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7293690195430705478.post-16616735207635988072012-04-06T01:49:32.561-04:002012-04-06T01:49:32.561-04:00Lasalle is not supported by Sam? But WHY on earth did the FoGN designers write a set of rules in which a unit fights in "Tactical"?! Why couldn't they just describe it as column???Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7293690195430705478.post-2274042929495409882012-04-01T11:43:46.526-04:002012-04-01T11:43:46.526-04:00I just read the fast play rules and I'm a bit ...I just read the fast play rules and I'm a bit confused as to where cavalry can actually assault .. it states 'Cavalry are not allowed
to attack enemy infantry units in the field or the building'????
Buildings I can understand ... but 'the field'?Battlescalehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13530786317286215390noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7293690195430705478.post-89597372522564363592012-04-01T08:18:13.916-04:002012-04-01T08:18:13.916-04:00Well done John - a very interesting and well- writ...Well done John - a very interesting and well- written review of NapFOG.
